Warner Village Theme Parks and Studio’s management have no involvement with the television & and film production companies that hire the Studio’s facilities. Subsequently we do not employ cast and crew.

Each production company is responsible for hiring their own staff; therefore potential applicants would need to approach the production company direct. We suggest you phone the Warner Village Roadshow Studios +61 7 5585 9666 to obtain a list of production companies currently on-site.

So, your dream is to work with the Dolphins and other Marine Mammals?

Becoming a Marine Mammal Trainer is fast becoming a popular choice, however new openings in this field are both limited and competitive. To become a marine mammal trainer, the usual path is to complete a Science, Zoology, Marine Biology or Psychology degree as this option also allows for other job opportunities as well as training. These degrees require many years' of full time study at University and it is even recommended to undertake an Honours degree which requires an additional year where students research their own project.

Another acceptable method of becoming a marine mammal trainer at Sea World, is to complete a "Certificate in Captive Animal Management" which is available through a very limited number of Australian TAFE colleges. However, you must be working in a zoological establishment to be eligible because it is a "hands-on" course which requires regular access to the animals. The "Exotic Animal Training and Management Program" at Moorpark College in the United States is also acceptable training.

Applicants without any of the above requirements must have at least four years previous experience working in a similar field with a good understanding of husbandry, positive reinforcement techniques and operant conditioning.

Sea World does not offer work experience opportunities within our animal areas to students; however, experience working with any animals in a veterinary surgeries, animal refuge, wildlife parks will provide the desired outcome - the realisation that there is hard, sometimes dirty work and long hours involved in caring for animals which requires a very strong commitment.

A large component of a marine mammal trainer's responsibilities is dedicated to educating the public and being comfortable presenting information to groups of varying age, backgrounds and numbers, so a history of public speaking would be advantageous.
